Windsurfing: Golf Course Car Park, Borth Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 20-30 knots Surf / Sea State: Flat Air Temperature: 13ºC Sea Temperature: 14ºC Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
After a mad session in the estuary earlier in the day, I headed off to the
sea front for a speed session on the flat water with offshore winds. AndtW
came with me, and Dave and Sarah followed along soon after.
I went out with my 5 cammed Arows Tomahawak sail and my Hifly. There wasn't
quite enough wind in close to the beach, but once aout 50 yds off the shore
it was fine most of the time and I had some nice fast runs, with some
really nice smooth gybes at either end. Smon then came out with a 6.1m sail
and 130 ltr techno, and we both headed off to sail over the Dovey Bar where
there was a little more wind channeling down through the estuary. We had
some good fast runs over the chop out there and generally had a good
offshore session in the sunshine.
The others meanwhile had gone off on a bit of a downwinder, before making
their way back to the Golf Course Car Park. Certainly a much easier session
than the mornings sessions and just as good.
